Shown above is a complete set of what the Conservation Dept issued a hunter in 1937. It includes a Michigan Resident Deer License, back tag and horn seal all with matching numbers. Finding all 3 pieces together is difficult to do but a challenge that many members pursue. Michigan issued it's first back tag in 1936.
The State of Michigan first issued a combination hunting & fishing law digest in 1912. Putting a complete set of these together has only been accomplished by a handful of members
Successful Hunter patches are also collected by many of our members.
The above license is a 1920 Michigan Resident Deer License with a matching coupon. If a hunter was successful he attached both coupon and a metal horn seal to the deer. The first Michigan deer license ever issued was in 1895 and had it 5 coupons attached.
Members also collect vintage pins, patches, pamphlets, and other items related to the Michigan Dept. of Conservation / Natural Resources.
